SYNOPSIS
Lopes , Nunes, Azevedo, Silva , Pinto, Oliveira... are all surnames of converted Jews, families of the new Christians who helped to form Brazil. But where does this story begin?
This documentary is a journey through time and space in search of answers. A trip spanning Portugal looking for traces of the Jews who once lived there, and who, over almost three centuries of Inquisition, were forced to convert or were killed. It´s a rediscovery of the Jewish-Portuguese roots that can be considered to have been fundamental to the ethnic formation of the Brazilian people.
